Trip to Teluk Intan

i went to visit the palm oil estate in teluk intan today..followed the school trip...organised under biology class...opened to all form 4 biology students..i think this is the 1st time i actually followed a school trip..weird huh?just suddenly felt like going..since it's free of charge..lunch and transport provided..lol..we gathered between 6.30am to 7am in front of the school..3 teachers came along..there were about 55 people i think..so we went by 2 buses..started out journey at about 7.05am..

i sat quite in front and then i realise it was a wrong choice..when i got up the bus..i could hear the radio playing some nice english songs..and all of a sudden an indian girl went to the front and walked back behind..then i heard an indian song..definitely i knew what she did..then i turned to the back..they were dancing away there..my gosh..it was so loud and annoying..and of cause the bus driver wouldn't mind since he's an indian himself.they even brought their own cd..but i cant find any difference in the songs..seems like all the same songs..even my friends said so...same beat..same tune..later i don't know where they got hindi vcd that they actually played it..and 1 by 1 went to the front to watch it..they acted as if the bus was so spacious that they even knocked my head..really noisy.. by the way..majority of the people in the bus were indians..all of a sudden they'll scream for no reason..i wonder what so nice bout those shows..everytime i tried to watch..the man will be singing..every few minutes he'll start singing..or the lady and the man will be staring at each other and talk..isn't that boring?

we arrived teluk intan quite early..maybe around 8 something before 9..but the bus driver lost his way..so at around 9.40am only we arrived at the palm oil estate..from 7am to 9.40am..wow..can actually reach kl already..lol..so the estate manager introduced himself to us..then he started telling us bout how the palm oil seeds are planted..how they watered the plants..showed us how the seeds look like..then he led us to the plantation areas..it was very sunny though..then we were given a piece of cake and a box of drink..

next we proceeded to the oil mill...Golden Hope Sdn. Bhd, 1 of the 24 oil mills in malaysia or where i'm not sure..forgotten..lol..and again we were given a talk about how they process palm oil..the career field of palm oil plantation..the parts and structure of the plam oil fruit and so on..the smell outside the oil mill was terrible..the oil mill manager showed us some slideshows and video and there was a quiz too..whoever answers it gets a prize..the people were shouting and yelling on top of their voices to answer the questions..definitely i couldnt get to answer any as i was not as fast nor as loud as them...lol...next, they led us to the place where they gather all the harvested palm oil fruits..some were ripe..some were unripe and some were rotten..they were divided into many categories..i collected 1 palm oil fruit..i like the colour..it's toned from dark red to yellow...one of my teachers asked the man if it could be eaten raw just like that so he tasted it in front of us and said it tastes like margerine..very oily indeed..

at around 12something..we were given our lunch which were rice, beansprout, a small fish, and curry i thought it'll be very lousy since it was free..afterall it was ok.there were many insects which were so call flies which do not look like flies at all irritating us while we were eating..they were big, long, fat and ugly... after walking around snapping pictures...we were told to queue up to get our souvenirs...we got a small bottle of oil each..bout 500ml in a nice paper bag..then we thank everyone and left the mill..i had a chance to snap a picture with the mill manager..

at first many people proposed to go to town to see the leaning tower..but the bus driver refused to do so as he was not paid to do so..anyway it was getting late..so we started our journey back to school..same environment in the bus as before..as noisy as ever..couldn't even sleep peacefully..all i had to do was just be patient..we arrived school at about 2.45pm..overall the trip was ok despite the hot weather and the noises.it was very tiring too...i learned a lot about how palm oil is processed and so on..but i don't know for how long i will remember what i learned..lol..so here are some of the pictures i snapped at the palm oil estate and the mill..

sounds like a nice trip u guys had though you have to listen to many songs made in India.. haha anyway good experience for you. I remembered many many years ago I managed to go to textile factory in K. Kangsar and oh my... the factory was so hot in there and I wondered how those people can stand working in that type of heat..
