good day

When I was feeling really really really sleepy during the first 45 minutes of my 3 hour lecture yesterday, Jesus kept me awake. How, you would ask? I would never have thought of how He would keep me awake when I felt that sleepy. After one hour of lecture, the lecturer gave us a short break and I thought, "Great ! I can catch a short nap." As usual, I'm usually wide awake during the short breaks and especially dismissal time. I'm quite sure most of us can relate to that.

Anyway, during that short break, one of my classmates suddenly asked if I'm a christian. She found out through some CF (Christian Fellowship) stuff which I left in the file of notes lent to her. I intentionally left it there with a little hope and low expectations that she would look at it and she really did. I never knew she was so interested in christianity stuffs and I was really really happy to have the opportunity to share with her. It just showed me how God works in such amazing ways, ways that I couldn't have imagined. I've learnt that leaving bible verses or christian flyers in your notes when you lend it to others is a good way to share the gospel =)

I felt quite wide awake after having the conversation with her and the awake-ness lasted till the end of the class.

Opportunities to share is not just created by us. Often, it is created by others and we are to grab it.

At night, we ( my dad, sis and I ) went to Sushi King for dinner. I think it's the first time we went there together. I think my dad had a sudden craving for japanese food. Sushi King's not a very good choice but enough to satisfy our cravings and it was the most convenient place to go to since we wanted to go to Ipoh Parade for the warehouse clearance sale. The way my sis and I ate and shared the sushi was quite amusing. I really had a great time.

As usual, I'm too lazy to upload a picture now so maybe next time. Till then!

the silver lining...

Over and over again, God showed me mercy. Though I don't deserve it, He let me pass. I was so happy and relieved last night that I couldn't sleep. It just made me realise that God's grace and mercy is never ending. I know I kept saying I'll study harder every semester and so far it has never happened. I need to keep reminding myself to study harder to appreciate God's grace.

Hungry or glutton?

It's been a month since i've last updated. Felt like it was just last week when I updated this blog of mine. The gluttony that struck me today created the urge to post a post here.

List of food intake today :

- Few slices of butter cake for breakfast
- Fish fillet set for lunch (came with soup, french fries, coleslaw, ice cream and earl grey tea)
- 2 Jacob's cream crackers, 1 apple, 2 munchy's biscuits with chocolate cream in between from 4.30pm to 5.30pm
- 2 Seremban's siew pow between 5.30pm - 6.30pm
- Laksa with meatball, brinjal and fried wanton @ 7.30pm

After all those food, i was still hungry for dinner. It's the amount of food intake after 4.30pm which amazed myself. Was I just glutton or was I really hungry? Oh and I've learnt from watching masterchef today that gluttony is one of the seven deadly sins. Perhaps it's my second puberty stage (just kidding).

21 year old blessed child of God...

It's the 25th of June today. Another year has passed. I'm not sure how obvious it is but yeah, I've officially turned 21 yesterday.

I had a mini birthday celebration with 3 friends yesterday (Sheera, Irene and Yoke Ching). It's usually a bigger group but i thought perhaps everyone's busy during the semester break this year and I'm happy enough with just a few close buddies celebrating it with me.

Then, I had dinner with my family. I really looked forward to my birthday because it was the first time this year that all 5 of us got together. My siblings have been taking turns to come back this year so they've never met. I've learnt to appreciate reunions more now.

Today, my college friends gave me a surprise birthday celebration. I'm not gonna write in detail here but it was awesome. Almost everyone that i knew turned up. I really appreciate how they set aside some time just to come today. I feel so loved and so blessed to have such awesome friends. You know, friends are one of God's greatest gifts in life.

Just when I thought I've lost many friends, God showed me that i was wrong. God is amazing !!!

It felt great that each time my phone rang, it was a birthday wish or each time i received a facebook notification, it was a birthday wish.

It was my 21st and it is by far the best I've ever had =)

OVER !!

Exams are finally OVER and my long awaited precious break is here but can't believe 6 months have passed though. So much has happened throughout these 6 months. I have about less than 3 weeks to enjoy all I want before the new semester starts. Exams didn't go well, i did badly but I'll just choose to enjoy my precious break now =)

Maybe I should leave a phone outside for my dogs and train them to call the police when break-ins happen in my neighbourhood =)

There's no more room for laziness but laziness is still squeezing its way through. Exams are near and so is my long awaited semester break.

Awesome Sunday

I had an awesome Sunday today (i mean yesterday). I had lunch with my sister who came back for the weekend, Sue Jane and Uncle Chee Foo in a Japanese Restaurant after church service. What made the lunch more awesome was of course being treated by Uncle Chee Foo. So, here goes :


Mokuren's the name of the place. I think I've been eating Japanese food more frequently than before the tsunami happened but it's never my idea, always someone else's =p

Here comes the FOOD ! Don't ask me the names of the dishes cause I have no idea. Uncle did all the ordering. We just ate. I can try to describe it a little though.


Unagi wrapped with egg.


Some soba salad.


Something which was cooked on the outside, raw on the inside.


It's like sushi roll but wrapped with cucumber.


And, yeah.. some roll with juicy prawns on top.

Uncle Chee Foo then tempted me with brownies and haagen dazs ice cream from De Garden just by telling me about it so my sister decided to treat me that after lunch and we went for it.


It's just next to the korean BBQ Restaurant - Daore... or Daorae? Doesn't matter.. hehe




Brownie with 2 scoops of Haagen Dazs ice cream - Belgian Chocolate and Rum & Raisin flavour. It costs only RM7.90 cause it's on promotion. Definitely worth the price! It was really good... It's the first time i actually had haagen dazs ice cream.

We couldn't take away for our dad so my sister decided to buy a slice of chocolate moist cake for my dad.


I just like the box and i didn't snap a picture of the cake. Just a dark coloured piece of cake.


Been a while since we last had a picture so we snapped one while waiting.

We went home after that and sent my sister off to the bus station.

Elsa chewing on the new dental chew. It's supposed to be given to them only when they're 6 months old but i think nothing's really too hard for them to chew on.

I was planning to go online for a while, catch a nap and study at night until a friend from America mentioned about wanting to watch a movie so we went to watch Thor just now, the 6 of us. We sat in the front row. The last movie I watched was Rio and I sat in front too. I guess it doesn't matter to me anymore cause i'm used to it already.


Ta-daa !!! Free ticket ! Hehe.. There's a buy one get one free promotion for citibank card holders only for the weekends. The offer's valid till 26th June 2011. Watching movies in Ipoh's TGV is so expensive now that's so it's really a great deal to watch a movie at only RM6.50 !

I went to watch the movie without really knowing what's it all about and it's much nicer than I thought it would be. Indeed a good movie.

I guess that's all for my post about my awesome Sunday. My guilt level ought to be on top now cause I've not studied for 2 days and exams are really really near. Oh yes, my blog's new look is copied from my sister's blog actually so we have look-alike blogs now and I'm trying to change the way I write in terms of usage of upper and lower case and proper punctuations. Compare it with my old posts and you'll see the difference. Will work on it.

Elly and Elsa again...

it's been a week since we adopted elly and elsa.. quite a rough start with their bladder control problem, but they're progressing well now =) and i'm amazed by the speed of their progress... getting more attached to me as well.. but too aggressive when it comes to meal time.. need more training...

they're always squeezing their way through the grill so my dad fixed a fence there to prevent them from coming in and injuring themselves when they get stuck halfway...

unfortunately...


the fearless puppies tried even harder....


and harder.... and eventually, elsa succeeded to come in... the metal fence is now bended...


caught them sunbathing this morning.. elly is always sleeping on elsa...

oh yeah, i forgot to snap a picture of what happened to my old pair of sandals while i was out today... badly bitten.. not hearthache cause i no longer wear it.. and we went to hunt for toys for them while we wait for my mom to bring back the toys she already bought...


and we managed to find the ideal toy at an ideal price.. hehe.. only RM9.80 for 2..

i was really curious about how they would treat the toy... elly wasn't really interested in it at first until elsa took the yellow one..elly then fought over it with elsa...


and finally, they both took one each... not fighting...





but they chose to fight over one in the end..


guess that makes it more fun and exciting?


they just love to share..i mean fight..


finally, elly got tired...


and elsa too.. observe her sleeping position.. truly amazed me !! what an off position she was sleeping in...

brought them to the vet for deworm and vaccination the other day.. elly has got an imperfect spinal cord which caused her tail to be still.. somewhere, something, at the end of her spinal cord is broken resulting in inability to control her bladder as well..all the more we're glad we didn't just bring elsa back.. but i can see her progressing well so far..

we went collar hunting for them.. not that many choices for the size we wanted to buy so we bought two black ones...


and dog licence as well...

guess that's all for their updates...

went to college today after church for the heel-a-thon event in in conjunction with 100th anniversary of international women's day organised by my college with the perak women's association... it was quite a big event.. not bad though... joined the final flag off...not on heels though, just shoes =p

elly and elsa turned hyperactive after dinner and they chased and bit each other non-stop..must be carbo rush...

about half an hour ago, elsa was whining to come in... she was desperate but only her head could go through...

Elly and Elsa

i was supposed to go to kampar with my dad this morning (saturday) to see our potential new puppy till my friend, preyah said there are some stray puppies behind her house.. she asked me before when i just lost my dog but i wasn't ready to get another dog yet.. so we went over to preyah's place in the morning to see the puppies before going to kampar...

and there....

according to preyah, there were about 6 puppies and elsa was one of the final two left so we asked to see the other sibling as well..


on the way to the place where the puppies were kept, we saw elsa's brother in one of the neighbours' house..


then came the mother..i guess the mother has really strong genes..look at the brown spots..


avoiding the puppies from getting her milk...

not as beautiful as elsa at first sight.. but she seemed really pitiful too..we couldn't bear to separate the two sisters cause preyah said they were really close so after considering, we decided to take both...




they love sleeping on each other...

elly urinated in the car on the way back home.. she's even shyer than elsa... and when they reached home, the first place they went to was...


under the car !! well, least they have each other... but because of that, they didn't want me at all =(

so the most normal thing to do to bait the dog out would definitely be...


food !! hehe.. they must have been hungry... i was surprised that elly ate more than elsa cause elsa is fatter than elly...


they love to share... the phrase 'sharing is caring' definitely applies to them...

they just love to share... i had a hard time separating them to their respective plates... they got so frightened and hid under the car when i tried to separate them... but in the end, they finished their food...

elly and elsa have already started chewing on my slippers..time to keep all our shoes and slippers out of their reach.. elly suddenly got friendly with me after several hours and i was really happy.. she even played chase with me.. but at the same time, elsa kept chasing after her and biting her ears.. elly bit her back and all of a sudden showed anger towards me when i wasn't even touching her.. guess she got irritated by elsa biting her non-stop? and the ticks (i think, cause i couldn't see it) which gave her constant itch... she looked so scary !!! think i've not seen a puppy as fierce as her...

it's 1.24am now and i just heard some whining, growling and barking outside.. wonder what was happening.. oh, i forgot to say, they were both whining and crying this afternoon.. sounded kinda funny though... and of course, cute...

never have i thought that i would have two dogs.. biological sisters...i believe they'll grow to quite big in size (hopefully not too big) and my house porch is going to be more crowded... and i hope i'll be able to manage my time better and filling it by doing something more worthwhile than sleeping... cause life at home without a dog is basically just studying, watching tv, online and sleeping...

about 5.5 years ago, we had our first dog, saffy and we lost her in less than 2 years due to an accident... 3 months later, we found crystle... and when crystle went missing, 3 weeks later, we got 2 puppies... it'll never stop once you start... and it's all over again now, back to start... with lots of lessons learnt..

getting these 2 new puppies doesn't mean i've lost hope in waiting for my dog, crystle to come back.. the gate would be wide open for her if she ever finds her way home... and i don't mind having 3.. all the more reason i have to stay back in ipoh..

i really wish the incident of crystle going missing didn't happen.. but wishing that wouldn't change a thing... i think i'm still struggling to accept how it happened.. i know many people out there would think that i'm giving myself false hope and that i should just let go and that she'll never come back.. i believe she's somewhere near and when she's let loose one day, she'll definitely find her way home, unless she has forgotten us... if that's so, i'll have nothing to say....

and i hope, when crystle comes back one day seeing the two dogs, she wouldn't think she's being replaced... i know she's a jealous dog.. she can never be replaced and i hope she knows that...

God has really been teaching me many life lessons this year - tough ones... i know everything happens for a reason and i can't wait to put the pieces of jigsaw puzzles together to see the whole big picture of God's perfect plans for me...
